1. PAUL’s mission wasn’t to simply make CONVERTS but to make mature DISCIPLES.
12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.
Proverbs 14:12 (ESV)
13 Whoever despises the word brings destruction on himself, but he who reveres the commandment will be rewarded.
Proverbs 13:13 (ESV)
2. PAUL CONVERTED THEM TO THE WORD MADE FLESH.
4 And he reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath and tried to persuade Jews and Greeks. 5 When Silas and Timothy arrived from Macedonia, Paul was occupied with the word, testifying to the Jews that the Christ was Jesus.
Acts 18:4-5 (ESV)
WHAT WAS PAUL OFFERING?
A BETTER ARGUMENT? A NEW CULTURE? A DIFFERENT WORSHIP SERVICE?
NO! HE OFFERED THEM THE WORD!
1 And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom. 2 For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. 3 And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, 4 and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, 5 so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
1 Corinthians 2:1-5 (ESV)
27 And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.
Luke 24:27 (ESV)
39 You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, 40 yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life.
John 5:39-40 (ESV)
3. PAUL DISCIPLED THEM WITH THE WORD.
11 And he stayed a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.
Acts 18:11 (ESV)

14 But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it 15 and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. 16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.
2 Timothy 3:14-17 (ESV)
- TEACHING – DOCTRINE – CREATES A WORLDVIEW

- CORRECTION – “SETTING UP STRAIGHT/RIGHT”
